Gdynia is a seaside city located in Pomeranian Province in the Gdansk Bay. Together with Gdansk and Sopot it makes the Tri-city with the population of approximately 750,000 people.
Gdynia on its own is 250,000 and is one of most dynamically developing cities in Poland.
Gdynia is extremely tourist – friendly, during the summer time the city is alive from dusk till dawn. The city is frequently visited by Polish and foreign tourists as it offers plenty attractions. Gdynia Aquarium, located in the city centre, is its biggest pride. You can see there many unusual species of amphibians, fish and reptiles from many continents such as Africa, North America, Europe. On top of that the aquarium has a well developed educational section for young explorers and all of those who are interested in marine biology.
It is worth to go there with kids to see interesting species and extend your knowledge.
Just behind the aquarium, there is a harbour for yachts and motor boats. During the summer sail boats rallies are organized there. You can see boats from all around the world.
The biggest event took place in 2009 when 101 sailing ships took part in it and it was watched by 2,5 million spectators.
Behind the harbour there is the beach and the boulevard which is mostly appreciated by those who like walking trips and those who prefer lazy beach relax. You can take a walking trip to Orlowo, which is a fantastic observation spot for the whole bay.
In Orlowo, there is a pier and a beach, which is not so crowded during the summer season.

Apart form that, you will also find numerous restaurants and bars, where you can taste not only fish, but world's cuisine such as French or Italian. Everyone will find something for themselves.
Gdynia offers various attractions for any tourist.
„Gemini” cinema complex is located in the Kosciuszko Square centre. There is always something good to watch.
There are also many clubs offering all night long fun.
Numerous concerts and artistic events are organized there as well. The most popular one is Heineken Open'er Festival, which attracts many music fans as well as stars from around the world.
As you can see Gdynia is colourful and beautiful city with many tourist attractions. The city has also become a seaside SPA with the most representative Kosciuszko Square.
It is good to go there during summer holiday, but it offers fantastic opportunities regardless the season.
